I have been a sky watcher all of my life…

I have been a sky watcher all of my life. I remember walking down the street with my parents at age four, looking up and singing Twinkle twinkle little star. Lying in the front yard on a summer night looking towards Home until my mom made me come in and get a bath. Playing the game of seeing faces and animals in the cloud formations, well, I still play that one all the time! When my grandson was two years old, I realized he loved the clouds too. He pointed up and said “Nanny, see those clouds? They are pretty but you can’t eat them!” I loved it, those particular formations looked very much like fat marshmallows. Not too long ago, right at sunset he took my camera and started shooting glorious orange clouds that were rolling in as a cold front approached. We must never lose that child like appreciation of the magnificence of Nature.

I love the story as well as the beautiful cloud pictures. Just as Cindy Aycock said above, “We must never lose that child-like appreciation of the magnificence of Nature”, I couldn’t agree more. The ‘child consciousness’ sees the beauty in the small, simple things of the world, when many times the adult passes it by in a rush to get somewhere, not knowing they are missing so much along the journey. Thank you for reminding us that there has to be some storms to cleanse the soul so that life can flourish.
